A Pet Insurance Success”Whoever thought pets should have insurance??

I thought it was just an extra expense we didn’t need. Well I am sure glad we did put pet insurance on our dog.

Wrigley needed knee surgery in both knees weeks apart! TTA surgery was covered 80% (after the deductable we initially chose) and (because it was performed by a specialist) through our Petplan Insurance company.

Both knee surgeries at Cape Cod Vet Specialists totaled $7282.21 and after my $200 dollar deductible they paid $5,825.76!!

I also submitted the bill 2 months prior from Marion when I remembered he was having issues at the time with his back legs but nothing specific showed up. The Marion Animal Hospital visit cost me $364.60 and I was reimbursed $327.60 because I had already paid the deductible and it was a continuing claim and since it was for my regular vet they paid 90 % for that visit.

Surgery on Wrigley was stressful enough, thank goodness I didn’t have to worry about the total bill. Petplan started working on my  claim as soon as I sent in my paperwork. I received my check two weeks from the date I emailed Petplan my claim. Wrigley is only three years old but he is real special and means the world to us, so it was really helpful to pay only a fraction of the cost of this expensive surgery. I am thrilled to say that Wrigley seems to be doing fine.” — Anita Stevens
